Passion for Hair-dyes

Every artist have their own preferred choice of medium and tools to create their masterpiece.

Leonardo Da Vinci chose to paint the Last Supper on a dry wall. (not a true fresco)

Michelangelo did The Creation of Adam on a chapel ceiling.

Andy Warhol created Silk screen images from his photographs.

As for me...my HAIR is my CANVAS.

My artwork was inspired by my Mom who 'force' (through nagging) me to dye my hair because it looks too dark and apparently made me look tired and weary.. I was 12 then. -___-

My mom dyed my hair using the L'oreal home-dye (it was such a trend back then to dye your hair at home), and I remember my first colour was Garnet

As the years go by, I experiment with various colours myself. I've gotten praises, criticsm (of being a la la mui) , and of course.. disciplinary issues with the prefects and teachers in school to the point that I have to wash toilets everyday due to the accumulation of my demerit points,  and wear a freakin' head scarf to school. All this for hair dyes~

Now, it is almost impossible to find a strand of black hair on my head, not that I have anything against black colour. Just that... I'm running out of 'canvas' already T.T

My current colour (fishbowl blue + purple haze + blue mayhem)

Few weeks back..

Being Sailor Mercury!! (no it's not a wig)

I miss my purple days~~

June '08.. this was due to the fact that I'm trying to finish my dyes.So rojak lah~

Faded pimpin' purple + blue mayhem

Pimpin' purple + blue mayhem rocks! (so is that thingy in my drink)

*The fading effect of hair dye*

Purple --> Pink
Blue --> Greyish
Green --> Yellow (aka mouldy.. eww)
Red --> yellowish brown

Cindy, Cindy, bo-bindy banana-fana fo findy fee fi mo mindy.. CINDY!

6:15am

*Beep Beep* (sms in)

Mich:Babe, Cindy won!!!

2:31pm

*Beep Beep* (sms in)

Nikki:Omg!! Guess who won MDG? No surprised here when its surely sms voting

Announcing the winners (stole this pic from Timothy Tiah)

There you go.. Congrats Cindy! (I didn't know I got 24/7 International sources)
I wonder how much her dad's phone bill cost but I'm sure there's 'untung' overall;

Nissan Latio - RM100,000
Cash & Prizes- RM20, 000

I doubt the sms bills is more than Rm120k right?!!

I was about to start my "fruits party"(aka bitching) on Cindy but I actually respect her for her strong character. Like I say in my previous post, I think only Cindy can survive in this industry and I guess winning MDG will do her good since she's in the Communications major (if I remember correctly). And, of course let's not forget about her Dad who has been supporting her financially and emotionally. Nothing beats Family loveeeeeee....

This MDG thing just reminded me about something that happened 5 years ago..

SEVENTEEN MAGAZINE 1ST ANNIVERSARY

17Mag had a 2 day workshop in Legend Hotel where the lucky contestants will be given makeup and modeling lessons (by real models). Me and Sharon were chosen for it and it was fun fun FUN!!
Free food
, free goodies (cosmetics, clothes, bags etc.etc..), new friends (Serene and Wei Hsiang..we even met up to practice our so called 'catwalk' coz we get to model for RoXy at Lot 10).. haha that sounds kinda lame now but at that time, it was wooHOoo..

Hmm..I've got some pics but I have to dig for it.. I'm sure it's in here somewhere..

*Digging......*

Malaysian Dream Girl......rite...

The Contestants for MDG

OMFG.. I can't believe I finish watching the finale episode of Malaysian Dream girls (Ep.16).. Freaking all 7 parts!! I did this for you, Michelle Chong Mun Munn MUUN I still don't know why you hampir nangis while watching.. -_____-"

First of all, this is one of the most retarded #%@%@$ reality show and it's retarded coz, ITS A JOKE!! HAHA.. the girls, the sponsors, the producer, the script writers, the JUDGES especially...

Host: Sazzy Falak (I think she speaks fairly well and she's gorgeous)
Judges: Elaine Daly, Kenny Sia & Lim Jimmy
The Top 3 Finalist(L-R Hanis, Adeline, Cindy)

I'm pretty shock with the results. I understand why Hanis is in. Well coz she's sweet and its like the typical omg she's such a lil darling girl next door kind. Cindy is definitely in for the Drama (yah with a capital D). She seriously reminds me of Phua Chu Beng's wife.. yada yada yada..talk so much but I've no idea what she's whining about. Er.. as for Adeline, that kinda confuses me. She's probably in because her speech is...entertaining? .. in some way.. "i like to eat sooo seee.."

I think the only one who can actually survive in this industry would be Cindy. She's tough enough and even though she gets bombarded left right center back by most of the girls, she's got a strong and confident character. But her "sam-pat"-ness is kinda annoying at times.. Actually, this whole god damn show is freakin annoying..

While watching ep. 16 , I couldn't help but burst out laughing by myself. Sometimes, I had trouble figuring out what the girls were trying to say.

Cindy: .. its like my champ-bur
Hanis: .. the pose were not eh-lehh-borat
Adeline: .. she is very helpful..she is professional.....she...she..... she (while referring to Jimmy)

The judges/hosts were not that great themselves either.

Jimmy:.. .and so the fur-nah-lei will be at One utama......
Acting coach: acting is not only facial expressions and emotions.. its also physical (like Duh.. who would wanna watch a movie just based on facial movements.. em..ok maybe i would for the sake of curiosity)

Some pics from the Couture Batik photoshoot (this wasn't so bad)

I remember watching the first episode of MDG, and it was some audition thingy. Gawd, the three hosts were soooo unprofessional. Especially Kenny Sia...
Kenny Sia: wah your skirt looks like something from the rubbish bin

Wtf??!

While watching the interviews of Adeline, Cindy and Hanis, I was trying to see if there's any "smart-ness" in this so called babes. As a public figure, especially in Show Biz.. looks ain't everything. It's important for the person to present herself with characteristics such as elegance, witty, poise.. etc.. not sam-pat, bimbo, the whole omg this omg that nonsense.

All these girls talk about during the interviews were how much MILO this fella drank, how many BANANAS that fella took, my father your father, 15k 16k, wash dishes, im cindy not cinderella (heh?), she dont fren me i dont fren u..... WONDERFUL!

I love reality shows, like the typical Project Runway, American Top Model, all of Bravo's reality show production etc etc.. so when I heard about MDG, I was like yay..this should be fun. But it looks more like a try hard wannabe Model search show that seems to be a huge flop, unless the aim for this show is to make the girls the butt of the joke. I pity the girls, seriously I do.

Final photo shoot. It was a high end photo shoot according to dear Cindy

I was chatting with my soh poh in crime, Nikki, while watching MDG and telling her that I wouldn't mind producing this kinda show coz I bet it's hilarious to see what all this girls can come up with. (especially lookin' like fools)

Me: haha I don't mind producing this kinda show, sure damn entertaining
Nikki: I think it's more entertaining if you participate
Me: HAHA I PARTICIPATE?!THEY'LL KICK ME OUT INDA FIRST ROUND!!
Nikki: haha nola, they will keep you for the drama
Me: I'm trying to imagine, if I was in the show.. my conversation with my dad would probably be this

Me: hello Di, you got watch the show?
Dad: aiyah got lah..ehhh why u never eat the banana wan ah.. why all cindy eat edi ah..
Me: yaloh.. she greedy mah..eat 3
Dad: wah, like that .. how lah.. u got shit anot?

Then during interviews it'll be;

Yah.. i must say..my constipation is definitely cause by cindy's greediness. I mean.. I usually can shit.but .. because of the lack of bananas lately..I must say i haven't shit since episode 10.I know its episode 13 now..*sigh* what can i say.

Oh,by the way let me explain some stuff before I go any further. The reason I have this topic about 'shiat' is that me and Nikki were going through some kinda constipation problem. Haha i know it's a gross topic but hey.. we are humans ok.. kalau masuk mesti keluar lah.

Nikki: I think all the constipated ppl like me will give u full support
Me: Say no to Cindy!! more bananas for Isabel!! woohoo. Those fiber pill company will want me to be in their ad.
Me: "wow.. after taking this pill..it really works!! i don't need bananas anymore.. Cindy, you can have all the bananassssss"
Nikki: ...................wonderful...... you'll be famous
Me: Yah, all the paparazzi will gather and like "hey, when's the last time you shit"... "oh like 5mins ago, the pill is really effective!!"
Nikki: hahah sponsor free branded tissue paper
Me: ohh it's so soft, I can barely feel anything while wiping my arse.

Being as bored as hell at 3am, I decided to check out other stuff in the MDG website. I came upon this;

The "Ringtones" caught my attention;
"Get personal with the girls by having their sultry ringtones on your phone."
SULTRY!?!?!?!?!?> I SOOO HAVE TO CHECK THIS OUT!!

The list of Ringtones and Alert.

Adeline was the first.. omg.. It's indescribable... u gotta hear it for yourself..

MDG Ringtones

That's it.. I can't go on anymore after hearing those ringtones....

Sushi on Veteran's Day

Today is Veteran's Day in Boston. That means no class for me. Yay! Thought of spending the entire day doing my work, but decided to go to Livia's house to see her "pan leng" for her demo cover and playing Tenchu with Lionel for 3 hours!! Stupid boss levels.. We ended up using cheats because it was so frustrating.

There's a new Japanese sushi place called HARU at Prudential Mall. I read the review and it said it's cheaper than Douzo but slightly more expensive than the regular sushi place like Shino Express. Me and Livia wannna try!

My first impression when I was infront of the restaurant was, "ok.. looks kinda fancy eh, and so New York-ish". Well, they have about 5-6- branches in New York. I guess they followed the same concept.

I was greeted mostly with Americans and I was abit worried that this is one of those places where the Asian food is Americanized.. Then we saw a bunch of Jap Sushi Chef. *phew*

Their menu was ok. It's quite pricey so I didn't get to try the fancy rolls. The average price for a fancy roll is about $15. And that's one roll. I was freaking hungry so I went for their sushi set. A set with 3 regular rolls for about $18. I think their sushi is not bad, just that I would rather go to Shino Express. Cheap and Satisfying!!

Sushi anyone?

Now I wonder how expensive is Douzo? Hmm...

On a different topic, here's a picture taken by Steph during Halloween. I celebrated it by working in LC for 6 hours..Lame
Freaky right? and he looks so disturbing!!
The first time I saw him was in front of 150 Berklee jiggling to the people on the streets.
2nd time was after class, crossing the road back to 150.
3rd time was with Steph, and he was waiting for the bus at Best Buy. That's when I took a picture with him.

Alright, time to shut down. ZZZzzzzzzzzz........

BBBBBBBRRRRRRR......

PAUL GILBERT YOU BLARDEE CHEAPSKATE!!!

ON THE HEATER GOD DAMN IT!!

I'M FREEZING LIKE A MUTHA HERE!!!... GAAAWWWWDDD

Stuff you have to go through to have a homecook meal

I'm pretty much sick of outside food and I'm kinda broke too. Somehow, I got this great eagerness to cook today. I went grocery shopping at Whole Foods.

I decided to use one of those ready-made Lee Kum Kee packet sauce. Tonight's main dish would be Sweet and Spicy Beef with Broccoli and Mushroom!! Wahaha..

Step 1, cook rice..

Went into the kitchen and I have to decide on which rice pot to use. Usually, I use Mel's rice pot but now that she's gone, so is her rice pot. I wanted to use Orang Kecil's rice pot but I have no idea how. I open the lid and I see another cover with a smaller pot in this bigger pot. So confusing.
Then I turned around and saw this other rice cooker which I believe is the Orang Bodoh's. Whatever, I just wanna cook some rice. Orang Bodoh's rice pot seems more familiar to me but then there was this knob which looks like a timer and there were chinese/japanese words on it. Seriously, I never had so much confusion on cooking rice. Usually it's just wash rice, put water, put into the pot, and press that thingy. Tada!!... So I decided to use the Orang Bodoh's one.

There is actually another rice pot above the cabinet. Lazy to bring it down..

Then I started cooking my main dish. This is my first time cooking beef so I am not sure what is the outcome going to be.

*Orang kecil came out from her room*

OK: You're cooking??!?!
Me: er..hehe..yeahhh
OK: oh what are you cooking?!?

*Comes into the kitchen*

I was kinda shy because Orang Kecil is a really good cook. She must probably be thinking WTH? while looking at my cooking pan.

The Orang Bodoh came too and I am now surrounded by two people, STARING AT ME COOK!!
Stress man. Haih..

OB: do you need suhhh to put this sauce suhh?
Me: er..yeah.. I will put that later

Before I can finish my sentence, OB already open the packet

*OB pour the sauce packet into the pan*

Me: Hm.. I wonder if this is ok (while staring at the pan)

THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN!!!!!!

OB: OHHHH THIS IS GOING TO BE SALTY!!! YOU MUST PUT WATER!!

*OB took a bowl and fill it with tap water and just pour it in my pan as if she's trying to put out fire!!!!!*

I WAS SERIOUSLY IN SHOCK!!

and I'm pretty sure Orang Kecil was shocked too because her face was stunned for awhile and turn to the Orang Bodoh and ask why did she do that.

OB: oh haha sorry sorry..

OMG man!!! First of all, I haven't even taste the food yet and she slumber pour water all over it. Secondly, tap water?!!? come on. Yes this is US where people drink water from taps but still??! This is an old building I'm living in and there's probably roaches and mice running up and down this pipes.

I look at my pan.. It was sizzling and bubbling before. Now, all I can see is this puddle of water 'takung-ing' in my pan. OMG!! so watery now...

I quickly stir stir and pour my food out into a bowl. I didn't even bother to see if it is fully cook. I just can't wait to get out of the kitchen.

Finally, can makan already..

*Opens rice cooker*

CHOI!!! my rice is still swimming in there. It wasn't even cook at all.

I was like...shit.. stupid confusing rice cooker. Then I asked Orang Kecil if she knows how to use this rice cooker. She wasn't sure either and asked Orang Bodoh about it. Then, Orang Bodoh said that the rice pot is from her boyfriend so she also don't know how to use. Arghhh my rice ah!!! At that time, Orang Bodoh was talking to her bf on the phone.

OB: Heyy suhhh, I got a more important question to ask you suhh.. The rice cooker suhh.. how to use suhh got number 1 to 13.suuh...

I seriously don't know how they communicate loh. If I was the bf, I'll probably wanna bang my head on the wall having to listen to her talk like that all the time.

The bf also don't know how to use it. Somehow, we got it to work. Yay!!
While waiting for the rice to cook, I decided to fry an egg.

*Tak!*

Yay! Rice is ready. *Opens the lid*
Aiyoh!!! so mushy.. ugh.. I hate mushy rice. Looks like I have to put less water if I want to use her pot again.

Haih.. so much stuff to go through just to have a homecook meal. Never going to cook when Orang Bodoh is around. God knows what she would do with my dish in the future.
